"good morning maryland" i'm charlie crowson. >> and i'm megan pringle, thank you for joining us this morning. a chilly start if you are headed out or taking the kids to the bus stop. you're definitely going to want to bundle up. >> lynette is here telling us about the change that came and another change that could possibly come. >> exactly charlie. very cold this morning and then we have another warm up on the way. so we are in a roller coaster effect but this morning you're stepping out the door. make sure you do have that heavy warm coat because we can see in reisterstown coming in at 28 degrees right now. this temperature is below average we should be at 31 for our low temperatures. and we are below freezing in millersville now. 29 degrees. look at the dew point. 17. that is some very dry air out there this morning. and this is going to continue right into the afternoon. the chilly air will as well. owings mill temperature coming in at 29. the good news is is that the winds have died down. it was a very blustery day on tap yesterday. not so much today. lots of
'm charlie crowson. >> and i'm megan pringle. thank you for joining us. it is not like it has been the rest of the week. >> no. >> so if you haven't stepped outside yet or taken the dog out for a walk, be prepared. you're going to need a coat. >> exactly a shock to the system. if you're not listening in this morning. megan because we have some very cold temperatures out there. and we are different because we are dry today. and it's going to stay that way as we look at maryland's most powerful radar. as of now, the dry weather is here. and it is here to stay for a little while. we will have some change in the forecast. but the bigger story? the temperatures. it's cold. look at the 26 degrees in glenelg right now. 31 catonsville and 32 arnold. we are going to have those winds out of the northwest light in nature about 5 to 10 miles an hour throughout the day. and it won't be as blustery as it was yesterday but this is what you can expect by lunchtime. 42 degrees. lots of sunshine in the forecast. but the sunshine really not going to warm us up as we go into the afternoon. 3:00, 44. cold degre
for joining us on this thursday morning. i'm megan pringle. >> and i'm charlie crowson. weather-wise, it's got to be great for that lighting ceremony. beginning to feel a lot like holidays. after a bit of a reprieve earlier this week. >> yes it's always chilly every year when they have that lighting. you see the people bundled up. >> that's a great thing. >> it is a great thing. >> it's supposed to be. >> exactly. that's what we have for the morning as well guys. bundle up out and about. look at the 20s from ellicott city 29 degrees. the winds out of the northwest at about 5 miles an hour. this will persist throughout the day. we won't be as windy as we were yesterday. that's some good news especially on that northwesterly breeze. we would really be feeling that windchill today. but that's not going to be the case. maryland's most powerful radar is dry right now. yes we have some cold temperatures but we will get lots of sunshine in here. the only caveat with that is that that sunshine really in the going to warm the temperatures -- not going to warm the temperatures up even as we go into the

. megan and charlie, over to you. >>> he's only 59 years old and already he has had four strokes. >> now michael brandy is walking across the united states in honor of stroke survivors everywhere. brandy will arrive in baltimore today. he's passing through the city on his way from maine to miami. brandy's mission is to raise awareness for the early warning signs of stroke. he hopes his efforts will also bring those recovering from strokes a little bit more hope. brandy who does walk with a cane has already gone 800 miles since october 1st. the walk isn't the first time brandy has taken on this type of an adventure. video and pictures from the past trips. >> in 2010 he walked from newport beach, california all the way to washington, d.c.. last year, he walked from san diego to seattle. we'll be watching him. >>> the neighborhoods surrounding johns hopkins university may soon be getting the makeover. today the president of the college and the mayor will be on hand for the announce. the new plan comes after last year's homewood community partners initiative. it brought together community me
